Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that the Punjab government issued a notification to pay the salaries of Christian government employees on December 20th so as to enable them to participate in the festivities of Christmas.
It has also been decided to set up Christmas bazaars in different locations of the province from December 22nd so that the Christian community can purchase commodities at comparatively cheaper rates.
He said this in a meeting while issuing directions to department officers here today. Sandhu directed the officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements of these Christmas Bazaars along with the provision of related facilities to the consumers.
The minister said that quality goods and commodities at these Christmas Bazaars would be provided at comparatively cheaper rates to the Christian community. He further said that the authorities have been issued directions to provide foolproof security for the Christian community from December 24th to 26th.
The federal minister for water & power has also been requested to declare and make these days load shedding free so that the Christian community can enjoy this festival freely and without trouble.
