Pakistan, Russia hold first consultations on regional issues

Pakistan and Russia have held their first consultations on regional issues here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultations held on Tuesday, a whole range of regional issues – as well as key areas of mutual interest – including economic cooperation and connectivity, were discussed, said a foreign
ministry’s statement issued here Wednesday.

The Russian side was led by the Third CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Head Alexander V Sternik, while the Pakistani side was led by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General (West Asia) Ahmad Hussain Dayo.

The two sides also exchanged views on important global and regional developments.

It was decided that the next round of consultations will be held in Moscow in 2017.
