Dense fog descends on Punjab

Dense fog continuously engulfed various cities of Punjab, due to which various sections of the Motorway were closed for traffic. Flight schedules were also affected and several flights could not take off from Lahore, Multan and Sialkot airports.

The dense fog engulfed Lahore, Sheikhupura, Pindi Bhattain, Faisalabad, and adjourning areas, due to which the flow of traffic was seriously affected.

The Motorway M-2 from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian, M-3 from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad, and M-4 from Gojra to Faisalabad remained closed for all kinds of traffic due to zero visibility. Traffic flow on National Highway was also disrupted.

Visibility was also reduced to zero in Pattoki, Okara, Mian Chunnu, Toba Tek Singh, and adjourning areas.

The Motorway Police has advised drivers to avoid unnecessary traveling, to use fog lights and to drive at low speeds. They have also advised drivers to be cautious and avoid using cell phones during their journeys.
