An activity agreement worth 81 million for the construction of Kurram Tangi Dam Project (Stage-I) will be signed between WAPDA and USAID on December 14, it was reliably learnt.
It is important to mention that Kurram Tangi Dam is a multi-purpose project with gross water storage capacity of 1.2 million acre feet (MAF) and power generation capacity of 83.4MW.
WAPDA will complete the project in two stages. Stage-I will be completed in about three years. On completion of the stage-I, more than 16,000 acres of land in North Waziristan Agency will be irrigated, while about 18MW of electricity will also be generated.
