PM, top Turkish cleric stress need to promote religious harmony

President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey Mehmet Gormez Monday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed ways to shun sectarian differences and promote religious harmony among Muslims.

During the meeting held here at the venue of the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference, the prime minister lauded the services of Mehmet Gormez.

Both believe that the solution to the issues confronting the Muslim world lies in true obedience to the teachings of Islam. The prime minister said Pakistan and Muslims the world over were facing the issue of terrorism.

Prime Minister Sharif and the Turkish cleric also stressed the need for a mechanism under which all sects and Muslim Ummah practice Islamic teachings in their true spirit by setting aside their differences.
