Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate today the Sohrab-Hoshab Highway at Hoshab in Balochistan. The highway is a part of the western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The 449-km Sohrab-Hoshab section will be completed at a cost of Rs 22 billion.

Chairman National Highway Authority Shahid Ashraf Tarrar said completion of western route of CPEC was the first priority of NHA.

He said that western route was divided into six sections including highways and expressways such as Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan (288 KM), Dera Ismail Khan-Zohrab (205 KM), Zohrab-Quetta (331 KM), Quetta-Sohrab (211 KM), Sohrab-Hoshab (449 KM), Hoshab-Gwadar (193 KM).

He said that as western route passed through less developed areas of KP and Balochistan, people living in these areas would get jobs and employment opportunities.
