Minister pays surprise visit to govt hospitals

 

The Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Imran Nazir paid a surprise visit to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Layyah on Sunday night.

He took a round of emergency ward, CCU, medical ward and medical store.

Imran Nazir took notice of out of order cardiac monitor in CCU and directed to replace it immediately.

The minister said that the vacant post of specialist doctors in the hospital would be filled on priority basis. He also directed to evolve a transparent system for local purchase of medicines for the admitted patients, and the defacing of local purchased medicines should be carried out in front of the doctor to avoid any pilferage. He also visited the Government. General Hospital Samanabad, Faisalabad on Monday. He inspected the gynaecology, emergency, and the general ward. He also inspected the pharmacy, pediatrics, and the clinical laboratory.

The minister expressed his displeasure to the hospital administration on non-availability of the incubator in a nursery and directed to immediately arrange incubators for pediatrics nursery. He expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness condition. However, he  directed the further improvement of cleanliness in the hospital. Moreover,Imran Nazir also visited THQ Hospital Jaranwala and Rural Health Center 65 GB, Jaranwala to check the availability of treatment facilities in the health centers.
