Sartaj Aziz to visit Bahrain to attend ‘The Manama Dialogue’

Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz will visit Bahrain on Saturday (today) to attend ‘The Manama Dialogue’.

Manama Dialogue or the 12th Regional Security Summit is being organised jointly by Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a British think tank, International Institute for Strategic Studies.

The summit is organised yearly and provides a platform for participating states to exchange views on regional challenges. This year’s dialogue takes place amid a set of political, economic, social and security challenges in and around the Middle East and North Africa of a global importance and urgency.

Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa will inaugurate the event.

Besides Ministerial level participation from several important countries, leading international opinion makers, experts, heads of organisations, and international media will also take part in The Manama Dialogue.

Advisor to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz will be a keynote speaker and he will present Pakistan’s perspective on prevailing and emerging security challenges facing the region and the world at large.

Sartaj Aziz will also meet the Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council.

He is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, and Ministers of other countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the U.K., and Canada.
