Contractors have boycotted tenders of various projects costing rupees hundred million in Rawalpindi.

They threatened to stop their work on ongoing projects worth rupees ten million until their demands are met.

According to reports, the contractors boycotted the tenders of Police College, Sihala’s swimming pool, Government Degree College F block, and, Graveyards improvement in Dhoke Munshi, etc.

Central leader of the Contractors Association Abdul Hafeez said that the officers of the district made a promise to fix rates for material and labour according to market rates but the government has failed to fulfil those promises.

Government labour rate is forty percent less than the market and by paying higher rates, they were running in losses.
