Islamabad police solved 23 murder cases in 2016: spokesman

Islamabad Police has traced a total of 23 blind murder cases during the current year, has collected vital evidences against the culprits and submitted the challans of these cases to concerned courts.

Spokesman of Islamabad police on Friday said that SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiyani assigned a special task to all police stations of Islamabad to resolve murder cases for the relief of the families of victims. In his directions, he said that there is no alternate to human life, so, it is the responsibility of police to trace the killers of innocent people and provide justice to the bereaved families.

He directed to give priority to investigation of murder cases and book the culprits. Following these directions, Islamabad police including Homicide Unit, constituted for investigations of the murder cases, worked hard to trace the blind murder cases. Police succeeded to trace 23 murders and nabbed 62 accused involved in these cases after collecting forensic as well as other vital evidences.

Every available resources and latest investigation techniques was used to resolve these cases. SSP Islamabad has appreciated this performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates to those police officials who had successfully investigated these murder cases.

He has also directed all SDPOs and SHOs to further enhance their professional capabilities to fight crimes and ensure the protection of life and property of citizens.
