Trade of substandard medicines to be eliminated: Punjab CM

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while issuing directions to the provincial administration from London today has said that the manufacturers and sellers of spurious drugs are traders of death and that the crackdown against them should be intensified.

The chief minister said that quality medicines are a right of the people and that ensuring the provision of quality medicines was the government’s duty.

He announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh to be given to anyone providing authentic information regarding the production of counterfeit medicines.

He said that cash prizes and commendatory certificates would also be awarded to government officers and staff showing outstanding performance.
