A 39-member delegation of foreign diplomats visited the Punjab Civil Secretariat here on Thursday and was received by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed.

The diplomats were given detailed briefings on development projects, business opportunities, reforms in different sectors, and the law and order situation in the province.

The chief secretary informed the delegates that the provincial government is following a comprehensive development plan and that a number of projects have been started in the field of transport, health, agriculture, and infrastructure in collaboration with the federal government. These projects are already yielding positive results, he added.

“Farmers are being provided interest-free loans and smart-phones as part of a programme to improve the agricultural sector. There are vast business opportunities in Punjab,” he said.

The delegates thanked the chief secretary and remarked that the Punjab government’s initiatives for progress in the fields of health, agriculture, transport and infrastructure were praiseworthy.
