Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan Wednesday (today) said that the prime minister had failed to provide satisfactory evidence about his assets.

“In the parliament, he had said that he had all evidence. But now in the court his lawyer claims he does not have records from the 1980s,” Imran Khan said, after the Supreme Court session on Panama Leaks.

“They are claiming that their entire business is being run on chits,” he said.

Imran Khan once again demanded the prime minister must submit resignation on moral grounds.

“By law, the right thing to do would be for him to resign otherwise how will the investigations be free and open?” he questioned.

Khan said that the investigating departments are subordinate to the Prime Minister and if a commission is formed it will not be able to work independently.

“We will examine the TORs of the commission; however all institutions (NAB,FIA etc) that are supposed to investigate are under Nawaz Sharif,” he said.

“We will sit and deliberate, the Supreme Court has not made a final decision on the commission as yet. And a day after tomorrow we will give them our point of view,” he said.

He added that he will inform the court on Friday if his party is in favour of forming a commission or not.

The Supreme Court today asked both parties to decide over the formation of a commission as it resumed hearing the Panama Leaks case. The commission will comprise one judge and be able to call anyone as part of the probe.
