SHC issues notices of contempt

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday served contempt of court notices in a case relating to the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

A single bench heard a contempt application filed by Najamuddin, who said that the court had only allowed the body of the Arts Council of Pakistan to carry on routine operational work, but that the council had called a general body meeting to make amendments to the constitution of the council, which was contempt of the court.

Agreeing with the applicant, the court directed the issuance of contempt of court notices to those mentioned in the application.
