Our heartache in the Heart of Asia conference

In panorama of weak policies on major issues in recent past, the government thence has come up with a prudent decision to attend Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference, scheduled in Amritsar. After SAARC summit’s postponement, it was requisite for Pakistan to share her views with the world. Of all the narratives that sprouted aversion and hostility between two neighbors, India’s lambasting Pakistan in the conference was evident. But it was Afghanistan who slammed Pakistan on protecting sanctuaries of terrorists and demanded clarifications. Pakistan’s Foreign Advisor Sartaj Aziz rebutted the accusations hurled by India and Pakistan but at the same time, it presaged Pakistan’s fragile foreign policy. It is not adequate to share such platforms to address grave problems to the world that Pakistan faces now. The need is to revive the fading role and place in the region by empowering diplomatic ties with immediate neighbors. In the wake of gigantic economic projects, Pakistan has in hands a golden opportunity to prove her worth in the region; politically and demographically. A robust foreign policy is the need of an hour.
