Crimson Peak star Jessica Chastain recently disappointed fans by saying that she will be taking a break from acting for the next few years. In the meantime, the Hollywood beauty plans to do something else that doesn’t require her to be in front the camera.
According to the 39-year-old actor, there is a need for some sort of change in her career and it may see her take some time off from acting to teach drama to budding actors or to direct her own production. Speaking about her plans in a recent interview, Chastain said, “Maybe at some point, I won’t be acting. Maybe I’ll be producing or directing or teaching at Juilliard. I feel like something is happening — a change will happen in my life soon. Maybe I won’t act for a few years. I’m happy, I’m content but I could do something else for a bit.”
Chastain — who has films like Zero Dark Thirty and The Martian to her credit — has been in the news of late for voicing her belief that Donald Trump’s presidency could actually be very beneficial for women. “I think Trump being so popular is really an example of why feminism is so important,” she claimed. “Unbeknownst to him, he is bringing it all to the forefront and I am very grateful for him in doing that. You have to look at the world in a positive way otherwise, you just want to cry.”
