Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Atif Khan said on Saturday that Information Technology was playing vital role for the development of the country and the provincial government was taking measures to extend it across the province.
He was addressing an E-Pakistan conference at Sarhad University of Information Technology (SUIT).
The minister said that the KP government has established 500 IT labs so far and Rs1.5 billion had been allocated for 500 more IT labs which would be established by next year.
He said that there were total 180 labs before PTI led coalition government adding that their government would establish 1300 IT labs till the end of their government.
The minister appreciated the role of SUIT to extend the project from E-Peshawar to E-Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion Vice Chancellor Dr Saleemur Rehman said that SUIT is giving modern education to the students and such student would become a beacon for the welfare and prosperity of Pakistan.
