Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz will attend the two-day Heart of Asia Conference beginning in Amritsar from Saturday.

The conference, taking place in Amritsar on December 3 and 4, comes against the backdrop of simmering tensions between the nuclear-tipped arch-rivals.

The adviser on Thursday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss the strategy for the conference. “Aziz sought guidance from the prime minister on the Heart of Asia conference in the context of improving peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan,” said an official handout released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

While Pakistan is open for any constructive engagement at the sidelines of the conference with India, officials explained that Pakistan decided to go to Amritsar to convey a clear message to the outside world that it was Delhi, not Islamabad, which was creating impediments in the way of regional peace.

Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria in a weekly press briefing said Pakistan would attend the Heart of Asia Conference due to its commitment to Afghanistan’s peace and stability.

The spokesman said the Heart of Asia Conference would follow previous agenda and every country has its own share of bringing stability in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan’s participation means its commitment for peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Initially, it was thought that Pakistan might boycott the regional grouping after India stayed away from the Saarc summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad in November.

The other reason that prompted the government to send the adviser to India was to not allow any opportunity to India to score political points against Pakistan.

  1. Let accusations be true, dont counter them. Else how pakistan will be on world map.
Doing something credible and good is not at all you forte. India is many fold better than you economically, socially & militarily.
Everyone knows, dont worry. Everyone. To concede a defeat is not a weakness. Carrying scars of long lost wars, its not at all healthy.
Let go. You will not win this war. Never. What do you think if you carry on with these petty attacks killing some but valuable people of ours will drag us away. Dont worry more will come in their places. & more of your terrorists will die. We are 1.2 billion people everyone is ready to stand on border. You will drain all your resources carrying these proxies & ultimately someone will get it, that you cant win.
As far is kashmir is concerned, if it was not for nuclear deterrence, we would have already taken it whole. That is our rightful right. Its just we dont trust you with nuclear bombs and all.
The way you are carrying out proxy wars in kashmir, its only hurting people there. I wonder if you truly want Kashmiris to be happy, they stand a better chance to prosper with India than you.
As their are certain political agendas to stir masses in any country, Kashmir is for you. If your govt. fails they start making kashmir situation poor. Then they start saying people of kashmir are getting troubled.
If you people want to help humanity, The world is vast enough & poor enough for you to go & solve their problems. Go to Africa. You will find plenty of so called atrocities over their. Go help them. We will take care of our own people.
Just sit back & relax. Help your country before invading ours.

    • Just a big lol on Indian comment. Most of the Indian comments are so irrelevant that you can't find a word to describe Indian thinking. India is not better than Pakistan, India is in fact a failed state in many social issues, just economy is not sufficient to make someone a super or world power. Indians are in denial about their country and realize it soon than later, that foreign policy is not every citizen's forte.

    • And another thing to consider, India has a large population because her population is greater than Pakistan's, however, the same Indian soldiers commit suicide before getting deputed to Kashmir lol and get scared of Kashmiri young people who just have stones in hands. So much to say about the willingness of Indian army to fight a war with Pakistan. The reality is that India is very afraid of fighting a war with Pakistan because guess what this is not 1971
