Police finds suspicious powder in Samia’s purse, sends it for testing

A suspicious powder was found in Samia Chaudhry’s purse and has been sent to the forensics lab for testing, police revealed on Thursday.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) worker Samia Chaudhry was found dead in her room at the Chambla House on November 26 under mysterious circumstances.

According to police the door of the room was opened and Samia’s body had been covered with a blanket. She was foaming at the mouth and there is evidence of food being served to three people in the room.

Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah revealed on Thursday that Samia Chaudhry was not murdered, rather her death seems to be the result of an overdose.

“According to reports the death was not the result of a violent act or murder, rather it points to overdosing of a substance,” Sanullah told reporters.

Samia Chaudhry was married to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) employee Asif Mahmood and was a mother of three. Samia was a resident of Islamabad and on November 20 had left for Shorkot in a car along with several PML-N workers to attend a political rally. She checked into room number 26 on November 22 at the Chamba House.
