18th Amend makes provinces partner in oil, gas resources with Center: Shah

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khakan Abbasi discussed certain outstanding issues between Sindh and federal government.
Federal Petroleum Shahid Khakan Abbasi met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at the CM House on Thursday and had detailed deliberations and discussions on certain issues such as gas load-shedding and Gas Development Surcharge (GDS).
The chief minister told Abbasi that a delegation of industrialists had met him recently. They had serious reservations against gas closures or what it was termed as gas holiday. “The industrial sector is the backbone of our economy and we must redress their grievance by managing gas load”, he said and added, “Sindh must be given gas as has been said in the Constitution.
The federal minister assured the chief minister that he would redress the grievances of industrial sector of the province.
The chief minister said that the provincial government should be given due representation in state owned oil and gas companies. He said that after the 18th Amendment the provinces were share holders in oil, gas and other natural resources with the Center.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, also raising the issued of GDS with the federal minister, said that it would be taken up in the CCI.
