A high-level delegation of the National Services Ambulance College, Dublin, has reached the Red Crescent Ambulance Service College (RCNASC) to conduct exams of more than 100 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
The delegation includes Dr Shane Know, Mr Anthony Bryrne and Mr Desmond Knox and Dr Khurram Shahzad. The delegation will take theoretical as well as practical examinations of the students.
Ireland’s Institute of Learning Emergency Medicine (ILEM) Project Director Dr Khurram Shahzad said that the courses are designed and delivered with a hands-on approach. Students will be encouraged to practice and demonstrate both the skills and the knowledge necessary to save lives, he said.
The Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) established the Red Crescent National Ambulance Service College (RCNASC) at its National Headquarters to improve the standard of patient care, to ensure faster care access, and to train health professionals and emergency relief workers in basic and advanced life support courses.
The institute has been established in collaboration with the Disaster Relief by Irish and Pakistani (DRIP), Ireland, and is affiliated with the National Ambulance Services College, Dublin, and Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council, University College Dublin.
