Ajoka’s “Bulha” touches the heart of Danhs audience

Ajoka performed its landmark play “Bulha” to a packed and appreciative audience at the historic city of Helsingor, Denmark. The chief guests at the event were the ambassador of Denmark in Pakistan His Excellency H.E Mr. Ole Thonke and Pakistan’s ambassador to Denmark H.E. Mr Mansoor Junejo.

Danish Ambassador praised the play and said that it’s great to honour and privilege to be here and enjoy the soulful performance. About theme he said that play carries a powerful message which was written three centuries ago but is equally relevant even today. He said the cultural ties between Denmark and Pakistan are strengthening and it’s great that a group from Pakistan has visited Helsingor.

Ajoka team visited Denmark on the invitation of Danish Culture and development organisation (CKU) for a week. Apart from play, Ajoka musicians also performed qawwali and devotional music at the World Culture Centre in Copenhagen on 25th November which concluded with “damadam mast qalandar”.

Both the performances were well received by Danish theatre lovers and Pakistani community living there. Ajoka team returned back Pakistan previous night.
