Talks between residents and owner of a frail building near Pakistan Chowk area in Karachi on Wednesday after which the tenants agreed to vacate it.

The stairs on one of the floors of a residential building collapsed today, after which the occupants were stuck. They, however, declined to leave the building.

Successful negotiations were held between the occupants and owner of the building, Malik Tasleem, on Monday. Malik Tasleem assured the residents that each family will get Rs five lakh after which they agreed to vacate the building.

The four families living in the dilapidated building were evacuated with the help of a snorkel.
