Punjab Assembly session on Tuesday was adjourned less than ten minutes after resumption, due to the lack of quorum.
Soon after recitation of Quranic verses, the session was adjourned till Wednesday. The quorum was pointed out by independent lawmaker from Faisalabad Ehsan Riaz Fatyana that could not be filled even after 20 minutes and Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan left with no option but to adjourn the session.
Speaking on a point of order, Leader of Opposition Mian Mehmood ur Rashid said that a special Lahori breakfast of ‘Siri Paye’ must be arranged for the lawmakers of PML-N as it was the only thing that can ensure their attendance in the house.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rana Muhammad Arshad said that strict instructions have been issued to lawmakers to ensure their presence in the house.
“The parliamentary secretaries will be removed from their offices if they remain absent for three consecutive days,” he said.
