Autocorrect responsible for older tweet when I called Pasha “Imran’s Dad” : Fawad Chaudhry

Explaining his older tweet on the social media microblogging site Twitter, newly appointed spokesman of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry said that when he had tweeted that former chief of the country’s premier spy agency Shuja Pasha was party chief Imran Khan’s “dad,” it was because of autocorrect.
“We all have cell phones and have all been through a situation like this,” explained Chaudhry at a press talk in Lahore on Saturday. “I was typing ‘Imran Khan is a charismatic leader who deserves to be given a chance’ and autocorrect immediately changed that to “Pasha is Imran’s Dad” automatically. A common mistake since the two sentences sound alike.”
“Very common experience.”
Similarly, when he tweeted that PTI “trolls” were actually “dogs”, he had meant to type that the activists and supporters of the PTI were the true representatives of the youth of the nation and that they need to be appreciated. “Since that entire line sounded like ‘dogs’ to the autocorrect, it changed it to that.”
Though many were sceptical about Chaudhry’s claims, party chairman Imran Khan agreed with his stance. “This reminds me of the time when my tongue slipped around 200 times over the course of several years and I accidentally said Musharraf is a benevolent dictator who is fit to lead the country and the people actually thought it meant I was a Musharraf supporter.”
