Sindh Police Inspector General (IGP) AD Khawaja has directed the police officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the by-election in the National Assembly’s constituency, NA-258, Karachi, to be held today (Monday).
A police spokesman said on Sunday that the additional police personnel would be deployed at all the polling stations, especially those that have been declared sensitive.
The IGP further instructed that the process of sweeping, clearance, random checking, patrolling, picketing inside and around the polling stations should also be ensured.
He also directed that the security of the candidates, voters and polling staff should be ensured. There should also be effective coordination with the polling officers and the staff, he added.
