No torture marks on dead body of PML-N worker: postmortem report

Police registered an FIR on Sunday (today) for PML-N worker, Samia Chaudhry, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Chamba House.

According to the initial forensics report, there were no torture marks on her body.

The samples of Samia’s stomach were sent to a forensic lab, said Dr Sania Javed. The real facts will come forth after the forensic report’s results, she added.

Samia Chaudhry, 40, was the wife of a Federal Bureau of Revenue employee Asif Mehmood and mother of three children. She was found dead by police on Saturday. A FIR for murder at the Race Course Police Station has been registered by her husband against unknown persons.

The evidence in the case has been gathered and the crime unit is carrying out its work, according to SSP Civil Lines Ali Raza.

The SSP Civil Lines said that initially the cause of death cannot be established.

He said that up till now no arrests were made in the case.

According to the FIR, the couple had been married for 19 years. Samia was a worker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and lived in Islamabad. On November 20, she left for Shorkot in a car along with several PML-N workers to attend a political rally.

She stayed at room number 26 on November 22 at the Chamba House.

Asif Mehmood said that he last talked to his wife on November 24. He spoke to the SDO for Chamba House on November 26 who told him that his wife was found dead.

The husband added that his wife was a relative of Harappa MNA Chaudhry Ashraf.

Meanwhile, PML-N worker Salonia Raza who has seen the body said that it looked like Samia had been poisoned.
