Private sector’s participation in armament industry made Pakistan self reliant: VP FCCI

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (FCCI)Vice President, Engineer Ahmed Hassan has said that active participation of private sectors in domestic armament industry has played a major role in making defence of Pakistan self reliant in addition to exporting the surplus and state of the art and hi-tech weapons.

 

The VP FCCI who participated in the 9th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS), 2016 in Karachi upon his return on Saturday said that this exhibition proved very successful in showcasing Pakistani manufactured weaponry. He told that as many as 418 firms of 34 countries participated in the international exhibition and exhibited their latest weapons. He said that the foreign delegates expressed keen interest in Al-Khalid main battle tank, JF-17 Thunder, super Mushashak aircrafts, K-8 aircrafts, fast attack missiles boat and IT controlled latest weapons.

Ahmed Hassan appreciated the participation of prime minister and chiefs of Pak army, air force and navy in this exhibition and said that PM Nawaz Sharif has rightly clarified that Pakistan will utilised it weapons for the purpose of ultimate peace.

He said that it is very encouraging the private sectors are also participating in this most sensitive sector which helped Pakistan to meet its all requirements of latest weapons indigenously. It will not only help Pakistan to save precious foreign exchange but also make its defense impregnable, he added.
