Sindh Rangers Director General Major General Bilal Akbar announced a three-pronged approach to tackling terrorism in Karachi.
He was speaking at a ceremony on Saturday where he said that the Karachi Operation against terrorism will continue.
He said that the operation will continue against target killers, extortionists, facilitators and financiers of terrorism.
The director general further said that with help of provincial and federal governments three major steps will be taken. The first will be the establishment of a skill development centre.
The centre will facilitate thousands of students, who will learn vocational skills that will help them make a living.
“Children who have been victims of terrorism will be preferred for admission at the centre,” he said.
The second step taken will be a “victim support programme.”
“We will extend our support to victims of terrorism after we collect data of different terrorism-related incidents,” General Bilal Akbar said.
He said that a support group for the victims will be formed.
A third step will rehabilitate petty criminals. “Over 30 children have already joined the Rangers Rehabilitation Centre.”
