Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz have constituted 3 committees under Member (Administration) of CDA to amend Islamabad Capital Territory Zoning Regulations 1992 in a bid to benefit a private company owned by the member in question by allowing private housing schemes in Shah Allah Ditta area.

Sources said that some high profile officers of CDA have decided to amend the Capital territory Zoning Regulations to promote private businesses.

It is pertinent to mention here that the deputation officer, Suleman Khan Warraich, who has been nominated as head of these committees, owns two hundred kanals of land through his private company.

Jama’at-i-Islami Islamabad held a press conference on the issue earlier, alleging that there was a clash of interest between CDA higher official’s private businesses and their official exercise of powers.

Addressing a press conference here at the JI office, the JI Islamabad Ameer Zubair Farooq Khan and a senior member Khalid Bhatti said Salman Waraich, Member – Administration of CDA, owns land in the area under the title of Tri-Quest Private Limited.

“There is a clash of interests in that a senior officer of CDA owns a private scheme and also holds an important post in CDA,” Khalid Bhatti said.
