UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson visits Shahi Qila, Badshahi Mosque in Lahore

UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson, arrived in Lahore on Friday to visit Mughal era Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort) and Badshahi Masjid on his second day of visit to Pakistan.

“Wonderful to visit the absolutely stunning Mughal era #Badshahi Mosque in #Lahore #Pakistan & the grave of poet Muhammad Iqbal,” he said on Twitter.

The visiting dignitary also held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

“Great mtg w/ Chief Minister of #Punjab Shabaz Sharif. We spoke about UK backing for #Pakistan development & boosting trade further,” he tweeted.

Boris Johnson arrived in Islamabad Thursday on a two-day official visit during which he has held meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PM’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

  1. Due to our own Foreign Minister’s visit elsewhere British FM is spending time sightseeing and meeting irrelevant persons. So much for the lack of any coordination by our most incompetent Foreign Ministry.
