Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawala, taking notice of sale of illicit liquor in Karachi, has directed E&T director general to take all possible measure to eradicate the sale of illicit liquor in the city and this heinous practice must be ended at all cost.
Mukesh Kumar on Friday said that those who were found involved in the sale of illicit liquor must be brought to task and no one would be spared, no matter how much influential one might be.
He further directed to speed up the raids against drug peddlers and the officers of E&T department must raid everywhere there was a slight doubt that the illicit liquor was being sold or manufactured.
The minister also welcomed Sindh Assembly’s Criminal Law Protection and Minority Bill and expressed his hope that it would help reduce in the incidents of force fully change of the religion.
“We are living in a civilized society and in civilized societies the use of the word minority should be dropped,” he concluded.
