Protests erupted in Indian-held Kashmir after Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Bandipore district on Friday.
The troops killed the youth during a siege and search operation at Manpora in Naidkhai area of the district.
At least 114 people have been killed due to the use of brute force by Indian forces’ personnel on peaceful protesters during the 139 days of the ongoing mass uprising in the territory that was triggered by the extrajudicial killing of popular youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, by Indian troops on July 8, 2016.
According to a report released by the research section of Kashmir Media Service, over 15,000 people, mostly youth, have been injured during the Intifada.
Of those injured, more than 7,300 have sustained pellet injuries. Around 1,600 of the pellet victims were hit in the eyes; 22 of whom have been blinded totally, while 307 are at the verge of losing their eyesight.
Over 9,030 people including Hurriyet leaders and activists have been arrested for participating in anti-India demonstrations during the period while black law Public Safety Act has been invoked against 600 of them.
