A petition pertaining to not regularising Grade 16 and 17 contract employees of an organisation affiliated with the Federal Ministry of Interior, Passport and Immigration Directorate came up for hearing in the court of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of the Islamabad High Court on Friday.
The Justice directed the Deputy Secretary Establishment to appear personally on the next day of the hearing and explain why the affected employees are not being regularised. Barrister Aqeel Malik and Nabeel Rehman are representing the affected employees.
The learned judge also ordered Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to stop any hiring for the particular department.
In fact, he said that even if their appointments were illegal, the SC has recently passed an order declaring the appointing authority responsible for this lapse and not the candidates.
The learned judge has set the next date of hearing December 15, 2016.
