Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle two kilos of heroin to Doha on Friday.
Ali Gauhar, resident of Mardan who was to board on a private airline for Doha at Benazir International Airport was stopped by ASF for checking over suspicion.
Ice heroin weighing at least 2 kilogrammes was recovered from his bag and he was arrested. Sources at the airport stated that he had hidden the drug in a box containing packaged sweat.
According to the customs authorities, the seized drug is worth more than Rs 20 million in international markets.
A case was lodged against him following his arrest and the investigation has begun.
