NA acting speaker inaugurates gym for women MPs

The Acting Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi inaugurated a gym for women parliamentarian at Parliament Lodges on Thursday. He said that physical activities and regular exercise are essential for living a healthy life but due to lack of time, people tend to ignore physical activities leading to different diseases and complications.

The Minister for State of Information and Broadcasting, Maryum Aurangzeb, women parliamentarians and senior officers of National Assembly and CDA were also present on the occasion.

Appreciating the performance of women parliamentarians, the acting speaker said that women law-makers were playing an affirmative and commendable role in the parliament. He said that due to security reasons and other engagements, the parliamentarians could not avail the opportunity to take part in physical activities.  He said that with set up of the gym not only the women parliamentarians but female members of the families of the male parliamentarians can also take benefits from it.

The women parliamentarians present on the occasion thanked the acting speaker and appreciated the efforts in establishment of the Ladies gym at Parliament Lodges. The demand for setting up a gym at the lodges had been pending for a long time that materialised with personal interest of the acting speaker. The female instructor deputed at gym apprised the acting speaker about the facilities provided to the members in gym.

  1. Wow! This is great. I would love to visit this gym as most of the time I feel uncomfortable when I join any gym ans men were looking around me. But now I guess this one suppose to be helpful for me.
