Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to contest by-elections, most likely from NA-204 or NA-207 constituencies, the sources revealed on Thursday.
According to the sources, the PPP chairman has decided to contest for a National Assembly seat. Bilawal will formally announce his entry into parliamentary politics at the party’s upcoming Foundation Day celebrations, the sources said.
The decision regarding Asif Ali Zardari’s return to Pakistan will also be taken on the Foundation Day (November 30). Party leader Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood also offered Bilawal to contest from his native seat in Rahim Yar Khan.
Meanwhile, the PPP chairman called on visiting British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson here on Thursday evening and discussed matters of mutual interest, regional and international issues.
The meeting, which took place at the residence of British High Commissioner in Islamabad, was scheduled to last for 15 minutes but continued for over an hour. The British high commissioner, former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani and Senator Sherry Rehman were also present during the meeting. Later, Bilawal Bhutto left for Dubai.
