- PAF has been fully prepared to counter any aggression after the Uri incident: Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, said on Thursday that the armed forces of Pakistan remain vigilant at all times, ready to thwart any aggression and ‘not worried about Indian threats at all.’
Talking to reporters at the 9th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) a day after three Pakistan Army men were killed in an exchange of fire with Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC), the chief of air staff said, “We are not worried about India at all; it is better if they show some restraint.”
He said Pakistan will have to rely on itself to meet challenges. He said PAF has been fully prepared to give a fitting response to any Indian aggression ever since New Delhi started blaming Pakistan for the attack at army camp in Uri.
Air Marshal Sohail Aman made it clear that Pakistan will not succumb to Indian pressure tactics.
“We are fully aware of the escalation in conflict arising from the Uri incident in Occupied Kashmir,” he said. He added that the Armed Forces were ready to defend the country in face of any misadventure by the enemy.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman further said Operation Zarb-e-Azb was complete war and no one ought to have any doubts on that count.
He said Pakistan was preparing Super Mushak jets for Nigeria and Qatar and had signed an agreement with Turkey to sell 52 Super Mushak basic trainers during the IDEAS 2016 expo.
The Air Chief called on India to resolve the Kashmir issue, saying, “They should speak on matters of principle and our ties will improve.”
Pakistan and India on Wednesday exchanged threats as tensions between the two neighbours flared in the aftermath of deadly clashes on the LoC that left 13 people dead on the Pakistani side, including three troops, due to Indian shelling while seven Indian troops were also killed in exchange of firing.
