Woman sues veterinarian in Islamabad for Rs 25m over cat’s death

A cat owner sued a veterinarian in Islamabad, accusing him of negligence that allegedly led to her cat’s death.

The cat’s owner, Mismah Sundus said that she took her two-month-old cat for a routine check-up to Dr Faisal Khan’s clinic in F-7.

The owner said that the cat was admitted to the hospital and she was asked to return the following day.

The same evening, when she picked her cat up from the clinic and returned home, the cat fell sick.

Sundus said she rushed her kitten to another doctor where it died.

“The doctor told me my cat had been kept at a lower temperature, not suitable for mammals. This is why my cat died,” she added.

A post-mortem report was also submitted to the local court.

The plaintiff accused Dr Faisal Khan and his staff of negligence and asked for Rs25 million in fine.

The accused have been asked to submit a reply by Dec 5.
