The engine and two bogies of Rawal Express derailed near Chaklala railway station, in the wee hours of Wednesday, railway authorities said.
The incident occurred in Kaliam Awan area and caused delays of several hours in the movement of trains across the country. No loss of life was reported.
Earlier this month, two trains collided in Karachi’s Landhi area, leaving at least 22 people dead and resulting in injuries to 65 others including children. The accident took place in Gaddafi Town Landhi when Zakaria Express collided with the stationary Fareed Express.
