Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday summoned Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and PTI’s lawmaker Dr Shireen Mazari on December 8th, regarding the derogatory remarks case against Khwaja Asif.
A division bench of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique and Justice Mohsan Akhtar Kiani heard the appeal filed by Shireen Mazari against Khawaja Asif.
The court decided to summon both the appellant and respondent parties on next date of hearing to resolve the matter.
The PTI leader has filed an Intra Court Appeal (ICA) seeking to set aside the single bench order that had dismissed her petition against Khwaja Asif for passing derogatory remarks against her in the Parliament.
The petitioner’s counsel Shoaib Razzaq argued that matters related to the violation of any fundamental rights of any citizen fall under the jurisdiction of the court.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and federal ministers Zahid Hamid and Sheikh Aftab Ahmed have been made respondents in the appeal beside the Defence Minister.
