Govt releases Rs 19b for NHA projects

The Federal government has released around Rs 19 billion for different roads projects to National Highway Authority up to 18th of this month under Public Sector Development Programme for the current financial year.

According to data released by the Planning Commission, Rs 6.8 billion have been released for 230 kilometers Lahore-Abdul Hakim Section of Motorway. An amount of Rs 4.4 billion was released for construction of Burhan-Hakla to DI Khan motorway.  The project is part of Pakistan Economic Corridor.

While Rs 800 million have been provided for widening and improvement of Hoshab-Nag-Basima-Surab road. Similarly, Rs 900 million were released for Lowari Tunnel and access roads during this period.
