Pak Army ready to respond to any conventional attack: Gen Raheel

• Army chief visits Sulemanki sector on the Working Boundary

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif said on Saturday that Pakistan Army was ready to respond to any conventional attack.

The army chief said this during a visit to Sulemanki sector on the Working Boundary where he interacted with the troops and war veterans of the sector. The army chief appreciated the highest state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along LoC, Working Boundary and the international border. The army chief spent his day with Army and Rangers troops.

“Pakistan Army is the most experienced in the world in any kind of warfare,” he said. He acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army tackling the challenges of national security.

“Pakistan army proudly carries its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry. Taking inspiration from our war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice, Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge,” the army chief was quoted as saying by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“With an unprecedented level of successes in the war against terror, we have become the most battle-hardened army and are equally ready for conventional war,” he maintained.

The chief of army staff laid a floral wreath at the monument of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed, NH. He paid rich tributes to our shuhada and ghazis for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland.

Earlier, on his arrival at Sulemanki, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, Lt Gen Javaid Iqbal, the Bahawalpur corps commander and Punjab Rangers Director General Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gen Raheel Sharif had dared Indian military to reveal its casualties, saying that Pakistan Army had killed 11 Indian troops in return for its seven martyrs.

During an informal conversation with media in Islamabad, he had said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly understood that aggression across LoC was useless.
