Lately, the demand for lady doctors has risen among mothers searching for a prospective “Bahu” (Daughter-in-law) in the house rather than in hospitals.
The idea of Doctor bahu is becoming a trend among all classes. Families prefer girls with a doctor tag, overlooking their character and moral values, which truly define them. It is further very depressing to know that these young intellectual ladies are later not allowed to pursue their careers by the new families, repressing their skills concurrently depriving the society of their healthcare capabilities.
It is of high social concern and we need to stop judging and preferring young ladies on their professional status bringing an end to the set-schema. Women should be valued for their personality and nature rather than their assets and external beauty.

Tasmia points to a major problem with our societies changing values. Women with medical degree are being preferred by the would be husbands & in Laws. I do not think it has got to do anything with their character or morals. These doctors can be better than other girls regarding good qualities which should be considered in a would be bride whether professional or highly educated one.
In the age of IT and & reason it has become essential to find suitable brides who have good educational & professional skills too. It suits the modern day living standards and lays the foundation for the economic health of the family too. I think the mother in laws of become wise to chose doctors as their daughter in laws for their added value.
