The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sub-Committee on Transport chairman has criticized the decision of the Hyderabad deputy commissioner for banning the light public transport service from Hyderabad to Karachi.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that decision of the deputy commissioner has caused great inconvenience to commuters particularly women and children who preferred to use light public transport service from Hyderabad to Karachi. Prior to the ban, they easily got public transport as their nearest and now they have been forced to reach Qasim Chowk or Badin Bus Stop for catching the vehicle, he added.
He said that light public transport service from Hyderabad to Karachi has proved the safe journey between the two cities except some minor cases no major accident was reported at Super Highway as compared to losses of lives as well as injuries occurred due to accidents of heavy vehicles.
He appealed to the deputy commissioner to reconsider his decision and withdraw the orders of banning the light public transport for the larger interest and safety of the citizens of both the cities of the province.
