Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar said that the government should pay attention to the ‘Karachi Development Plan’ and there will no need for the National Action Plan (NAP) and Karachi Operation.

He was speaking to journalists outside the Sindh Assembly on Friday. “If Karachi develops there will be no need for NAP or the Karachi Operation,” he said.

He said that his party the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan wants to work with all political parties.

The mayor said that infrastructure of the city had collapsed and providing drinking water to people had become a challenge.

“If Karachi prospers all of Sindh will prosper,” he said.

Akhtar spent over 100 days in jail after his arrest on July 19. He was released this week after the court granted him bail in all 39 cases against him.

  1. Feel ashamed these poli-tics ( blood sucking politicians) making a V-sign – weather inside or outside of Jail. Asif Zadari also used to make a V-sign when he used to come to Court of leaving for Karachi Jail which Mumtaz Ali Bhutto deplored. So far, MQM serving Karachi is concerned, they have almost destroyed this city during the last three decades. Is there anything to serve ? May be they start their old activities in disguise.
