Pakistan Representative to United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi said that dialogue between the Afghan government and Taliban is the only way to end long suffering and restore peace in Afghanistan. She stated that while taking part in a debate on Afghanistan at the United Nations General Assembly.
Maleeha Lodhi said, “Pakistan has played an important role in maintaining peace in Afghanistan, which has been acknowledged by the international community.”
“Over 30 years Afghan war produced grave consequences for Pakistan’s security, stability and economic development,” she added.
Dr Lodhi also stated that the success of reconciliation process depends on the responsible role of Afghan people.
Not only that, she assured that Pakistan wants the voluntary return of Afghan refugees to their country.
