India committing genocide in IOK: AJK president

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan said that Pakistan and Kashmir were inter-related and that Pakistan is incomplete until Kashmir becomes a part of its territory.

He said that whatever India is doing in the occupied territory is genocide and that there is no any other terminology to describe atrocities.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organised by Punjab University Department of Political Science and Centre for South Asian Studies at Al Raazi Hall on Friday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, senior journalist from Indian Occupied Kashmir Murtaza Shibli, CSAS Director Dr Umbreen Javed, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the participants of the seminar, Sardar Masood Khan said that we were determined that we would never surrender on Kashmir. He said that there is no terrorist in the held Kashmir and unarmed Kashmiris were struggling for their freedom.

“This is not Line of Control (LOC) between Pakistan and India, rather this is ceasefire line”, he said, adding that India could not attack Pakistan and if it did so, it will be like committing suicide.

However, the AJK President said, India had defeated Pakistan on the front of media and communication. He said India had propagated her narrative on Kashmir in an organised and sophisticated manner. He requested students to express solidarity with Kashmiri people via social media and asked faculty members to write scientific research papers on the Kashmir issue.

Addressing the seminar, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that it was unfortunate that Pakistani media was repeating Indian narrative on Kashmir. He said that Pakistani media did not expose non-state actors operating in Indian-Occupied Kashmir.

He said that these non-state actors including Village Defence Council and IKWAN were killing innocent Kashmiris with the help of RSS. He said that our assemblies and senate must pass resolutions that we will liberate Kashmiris from India and that we will give Kashmiris their right.

Murtaza Shibli said that as many as 110 Kashmiris had been brutally killed in the last five months in rge occupied valley. He said that innocent people were brutally stabbed and stoned to death. He said that as many as 1000 Kashmiris were partially and completely blinded in the recent wave of Indian oppression. He said that the genocide of Kashmiris was going on in slow motion in Occupied Kashmir.

He said that China was taking keen interest in Kashmir issue and had issued five statements recently. He said that India was not interested in resolving Kashmir issue. He said that Pakistan, Kashmir and Chine must start dialogue process on the issue, and added that the governments of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan should give special diplomatic status to the people of the held Kashmir.

He said that Pakistan must depoliticise its institutions established for resolving Kashmir issue. Later, PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran presented souvenir to Sardar Masood Khan.
