Daesh terrorist killed near Murree

A terrorist suspected  of belonging to the notorious banned religious outfit Daesh, was killed in an encounter on Friday while his two accomplices fled during an operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The CTD officials raided a hideout of the terrorists based on an intelligence report, a spokesperson for the CTD said.

The spokesperson disclosed that the terrorists opened fire and hurled hand grenades at the CTD officials. The militant, who has been identified as Ahsan Swati, was killed by the firing of his own associates. Bullets, pistols, rifles and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the slain. Two CTD officials were also injured in the encounter.

According to the CTD, the terrorists were involved in an attack on an I-9 police post in which police officials were killed and an attack on ARY media house in Islamabad in 2015.
