Dacoit gang busted; weapons recovered

The police have arrested 14 outlaws including five members of a dacoit gang and recovered a motorcycle, weapons, and ammunition from their possession, a police spokesman said.

On a tip-off regarding the location of the dacoit gang members near Bahria Enclave on Kuri road, SP Zubair Ahmed Sheikh constituted a team under the supervision of DSP Arif Hussain Shah. This team including SHO Bani Gala police station Inspector Rukhsar Mehdi, ASI Ishtiaq, and constables Rasheed and Shahid, conducted a raid and succeeded to arrest five alleged dacoits. They have been identified as Abid, Shan, Sadi, Shafiq and Liaqat. Various cases of theft and robbery had been already registered against Sadi and Liaqat at Margallah and Shehzad town police stations, as well as in Okara.

This gang confessed to committing robberies in Tumair, Pind Begwal and Barma town. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Karachi Company security arrested Sheeraz, Nayyer, Liaqat and Shabbir besides recovering two pistols, ammunition and knives from them.

Shalimar police apprehended Qasim for having a 30 bore pistol and an FIA enforcement team arrested Nasar Khan for possessing the same. Sabzi Mandi police recovered a 12 bore repeater gun from Safeer, while a motorbike was recovered by the Sihala police station from Faisal Yaseen and Abdul Rehman.

Cases have been registered against those arrested further investigations are underway.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials for intensifying their law enforcement efforts.
